In any urban and rural areas, either a town or city, the need to control the traffic flow and road situations are some of the major concerns since it does not only affect basic transportation of commuters, but it also affect its trade and business aspects.
As citizens, it is our duty to follow the traffic rules and regulations to avoid any road problems and accidents.
The Local Government Unit of Bansalan passed the Municipal Ordinance No. 423 otherwise known as “The 2018 Transport and Traffic Code of the Municipality of Bansalan” and was published in a local newspaper on October 18, 2018.
The ordinance, as stated, aims to “ensure order and public safety among the drivers, commuters, and the entire populace through the enforcement of traffic laws, rules, and regulations.”
It is the policy of the Municipality to maintain orderly movement of all vehicles with due regard for the safety of the pedestrian through the exact compliance of the drivers on the provisions of the Code and all traffic rules and regulation.
The said ordinance amplifies the duties of the Traffic Management Center to have full control of the traffic flows, apprehensions, and other functions directed to managing the road rights and concerns.
In addition, all Punong Barangays are given the authority to apprehend and issue citation tickets to violators in their respective areas.
According to Rufino Acosta Jr., Bansalan TMC personnel, the ordinance will be strictly implemented and shall take effect immediately.
“The office will be open to answer questions and inquiries regarding the rules, regulations, apprehensions and penalties, and other matters concerning the traffic code,” Acosta added.
